Behind the Scenes
At the end of 2016, my husband received the news that his beloved grandmother had passed away. In remembrance and celebration of her contributions to his life, we both decided to embark and honor our grandparents for their spiritual and life contributions.
After brainstorming, the decision was almost set in stone because Maria (his grandmother), and I shared a deep and similar zeal for the word of God and sharing it with others. We also believed in the relevance of legacy and for individuals to excel in their lives. Crowns Ministries is the result of a new project of life and the final chapters are in construction as we submit to God's guidance.
In 2017, after some deliberation, the name and verse for this Ministry was confirmed by God. From the book of Psalms 8:5 WEB*, "You have made him a little lower than the angels, and crowned them with glory and honor."
The motto of the Ministry is "Rediscover Yourself, Mirror It Back, Lend a Hand to Others." The following scriptures from the World English Bible (WEB) nurture the essence of it.
"everyone who is called by my name, and whom I have created for my glory, whom I have formed, yes, whom I have made." Isaiah 43:7 WEB
"Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
1Corinthians 10:31 WEB
"I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 3:14 WEB
"Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do."
1 Thessalonians 5:11 WEB
"The things which you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the same things to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also." 2 Timothy 2:2 WEB
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 WEB

Prior to this, we both devoted our time to church commitments without knowing that each project was a piece of the mosaic God envisioned for us. In different responsibilities, we have served as translators for the Latino community and contributed to initiatives with the destitute, homeless, and single mothers. That season and other life experiences helped us to realize that we wanted to make a tangible difference in people's lives and build legacies for God's kingdom. We are builders and developers of individuals to improve their lives in all facets.
